ROPE / Corde Lisse

About the Workshop with Irene Schuberth (english description)
The Rope Workshop with Irene is addressed to beginners up to advanced aerialists. The warm-up is based on contemporary dance, Yoga and Pilates followed by conditioning exercises.
The beginners will focus on basic vocabulary on the rope, such as climbs, poses and getting ready for some small drops. As body awareness is very essential to move safely in the air, we focus on correct body alignment and placement throughout the workshop.
For the intermediate and advanced students, we will introduce the foundation in dynamic beats, how to use weight and momentum in your practice. They will learn how to ascent, climb and descent in different ways. We will work on several tricks/poses and we will link them creatively to find new ways of transitioning.
Our goal in aerial practice is to find a natural way of moving in the air, to let go of unnecessary tension and to enjoy an effortless dance, suspended in the air.

Guestteacher from June 2018:
Acrobatic Rope & Silks with Oscar Mauricio
This workshop is based on the "awareness of the space-time" of our body in the air and how the circular sensation in the exploration of the movement, harmoniously or unintentionally, can take us to personally unique and infinite spaces in our language.Every time more and more, we forget as an aerialist, in emphasizing the importance of simplicity and of the whole path that our body and mind inhabits when suspended itself, whether in favor of an exercise, transition or a simple climb.
Based on the technique that aerial straps provide us, we can transfer their valuable information to the rope/silk without losing it's essence, reaching similar positions, allied to the bodily possibility of each of the participants. Simultaneously, we work on the acrobatic movements in the rope/silk to improve the tempos and the elevations, significantly for the technique movements.
